Dimension Software is excited to announce the BETA release of our new Dimension SQL tool for TaskCentre. The new tool is a SQL query tool for TaskCentre. At present it works against any Microsoft SQL Server database.

The tool can operate in two different modes:

• Direct Mode: In direct mode the tool takes parameters from TaskCentre variables and functions, runs an SQL query and creates a recordset. In Direct Mode the tool takes no input.
• Lookup Mode: In Lookup Mode the tool takes a recordset as input, and for each record in the recordset, the tool performs a query based on data in the recordset, and optionally data from TaskCentre variables and functions. The output of the tool in Lookup Mode is a recordset, which combines the data from the input recordset with the values from the lookup.
  Depending on the number of rows returned from each query, the number of rows in the resulting recordset, will be greater than or equal to the number of rows in the input recordset.

The Dimension SQL tool is features an interactive graphical query builder, which can build queries with:

• Aggregations (summation, min/max, average and many more)
• Grouping
• Sorting
• Sub Queries
• …. and more

The SQL statement can be edited manually, and the changes are immediately reflected in the graphical query builder.

The Dimension SQL tool will be sold separately and as a bundle with EDIView.

The release of this new tool further underlines Dimension Software's strong devotion to the TaskCentre BPM platform.
